Active VPN on Beryl + Active VPN on laptop = extremely slow / inexistant connection

Here is my use case:

I am a remote worker, but not allowed to travel based on a senseless corporate rule.

"It is not only the right but the duty of every man to disobey unjust laws."

So I've decided to take advantage of my remote status and travel anyways.

I've purchased the Beryl, set up both Wireguard and OpenVPN clients. Both work. I connect, have a local IP, performance is solid.

However, my work laptop requires its own VPN client (OpenVPN) as well to access protected resources. When I connect to the Beryl, the connection is untenable. Downloading a simple HTML page can take minutes or fail altogether. This is the same whether the Beryl is using Wireguard or OpenVPN.

Does anyone know what is at work here? Why is this the case? How can I remedy?

Thank you

Hi,

Try to lower MTU number, both of 'its own VPN client' and the Beryl VPN client.

MTU in GL router VPN client setting:

MTU on the computer should be set lower than the MTU on the router.

Pls try.

These solutions did not help. Is there any other troubleshooting method I could use to figure out the issue?

Double VPN is a bad decision always.

Try to exclude your laptop from using the VPN by changing the VPN Routing policies.
