Adguard app for Android

Bitte. There are ways to block YouTube ads, but it is definitely not AdGuard. If you want to block YouTube Ads, then you should stop using the YouTube app itself and start using a browser called BRAVE. You can get it from the Google App store. The simply type www.youtube.com and then sign in with your gmail account. Brave will take care of filtering ads, but as you can see, this is a per-device solution, and if you have another Androind phone, you have to do the same thing on every device.

AdGuard is a network-based DNS sink, hence if you configure AdGuard on your router, then all the devices using this router will be protected and not see the ads EXCEPT for YouTube itself.

AdGuard has lots of other options to offer and play with, try logging to you router first, then click on Applications, select AdGuard Home, and click the Settings Page link... you will see tons of other options and there you will see some of the screenshots I gave you above

Vielen Dank! I have learned so much here! I did get "NewPile" and I'll have a gander at BRAVE. THANK YOU so much for your patience and for sharing your expertise! :muscle: I just looked at Adguard settings again. Through my home router, I can send/receive emails. However, using Beryl, I can receive, but NOT send. Hopefully Adguard is not blocking. I'll be calling Spectrum this afternoon. :pray:t5:

I am almost sure that AdGuard has nothing to do with your email issue. But just to make sure it is not, open the AdGuard webpage as above, i.e. click on Applications , select AdGuard Home, and click the Settings Page link

Click on QUERY LOG and see if you have your email provider blocked. I am almost 100% sure you will not find it there and it is either a provider issue or a configuration issue with your email client. Anyhow, if your email provider (let us say) google.com, then you should be able to see it in the logs and see if the action taken by AdGuard is BLOCKED or PERMITTED or something else. If you want to ALLOW or BLOCK a website, as in my case above, a host/website named bam.nr-data.net was blocked. If I want to unblock it, then I should click the three vertical points and see the four options it give me.

If there are too many records, you can simply type a filter, like google.com or gmail.com to see what was permitted or blocked on those sites

Well, I thought that we were onto something. As previously mentioned, I do not have any issues with emails on the device when I am connected to either my home router or data. The only time I have issues with it is when I am connected to the Beryl MT-3000AX. I can receive, but NOT send emails until I disconnect from the Beryl. I have rechecked my email settings, and they are all correct.

I did as you described, and indeed my ISP email was blocked! After I unblocked it, I restarted the Beryl, rebooted my phones, and tried again. The problem still exists. Interestingly enough, my ISP mail was one of the top blocks in the query log. I will definitely be giving Spectrum a call tonight but as usual, if they find out you're using any client other than their web email, they get cold feet and start backpedaling and not wanting to help. Thanks again for your patience.

Oh, I never thought Adguard would block a mail flow. Anyway, it may not be the only name to unblock. Try to refresh the QUERY page from Query Log and see other blocks if exist. You don't need to restart anything, you may simply want to close and reopen your mail client. Also don't unblock the client, as the client may change IP address each time you connect and disconnect. Simply unblock, refresh, recheck emails, check the logs, until you succeed.

I use an Italian app for lottery, and Adguard blocks some parts and I cannot see most of the parts of the app. I discovered that 4 distinct domain names were blocked. Once I unblocked them, everything went fine

Also try to view the Adguard from a computer, not a phone. There are things you won't see correctly if you use a phone to query the logs.

You can always request a Desktop version from the browser if you know how to do it, but let us not complicate things, just use a computer browser and see what is being blocked, if legitimate simply unblock

I found three that were unblocked after I unblocked the first one. As far as restarting the device, I saw where Adguard would activate after making changes upon the next restart of the device so out of an abundance of caution I figured it could not hurt.

After a lengthy conversation with my ISP and multiple transfers, I finally found the issue. It was the VPN that was allowing emails to be received but not to go out. Apparently, my ISP does not like nordvpn. I did several tests afterwards, and it was indeed the problem. I also found out that spectrum is about to get out of the email business. Tech support recommends that I find another email client and fast! After a quick search on the internet, I discovered that it is indeed going out of business. This happened to a family member as well with cox.net email clients. They went out of business but set up everyone to migrate their accounts over to Yahoo and they allowed them to use the same email address and extensions. It's amazing how all of this happened with very little notice, but I am fully aware of the pitfalls of using an isp-based email.

Thanks again for all of the support and patience. It all paid off and I believe that I am up and running again. The worst thing is that I will just have to turn off my VPN to get the email to work through the travel router.

Do you double-check what upstream DNS resolvers you use? If you use an ISP DNS resolver, it might be blocked at the next layer.

No sir, however, I did just look and I don't see anything (of I did it right and looked in the right place). I did go to https://dnschecker.org to input my email address as well as my up address, and nothing flagged.
