DNS resolution started failing and I wasn't able to connect to the WebGUI page as it took a few minutes to load.
Even after the page displaying, the login button and text aren't properly loaded/rendered, and was displaying login.login
.
Ended up SSH into the router and killing the Adguard process in order to restore functionality.
This is the first time this happened, and not exactly sure why it happened.

Please update AdGuard to the latest version.

Does this provide login credentials to be able to access the API?
Looks like a good option, but I'm not sure if I should just switch to running Adguard on another device.

Only if you adjust the config file. The script will just update AGH, nothing else.

Thanks, I think I'll just wait for a new firmware to fix this. Was running fine for the past month until this happened.

New firmwares won't always capture new AdGuard Home versions. Updating AGH is way quicker.
