I have a new AX 3000. I have gone through the process of setting up my admin password several times after rebooting the router to factory settings. Whenever I try to reconnect after setting up a new password, I get a message that I entered the wrong password. I KNOW that I have entered the correct one! What am I doing wrong?
Well, entering the wrong password would solve the mystery here. Even if I trust you you entered the right one it might be still some issue - do you enter by hand or copy from password manager?
Try to login with your password by SSH and see if you enter it right.
Or just reset the whole router and start over.
In some cases, once you've set a password on the router, the password only works in HTTP or HTTPS, one or the other, not both.
If you are getting the incorrect password error and are connecting via HTTP, try connecting via HTTPS (or vice versa).
This bug has been present since 3.x and is still in 4.x firmware on some devices.
Guess it happens if you first set the password via SSH instead of using the GUI.
Not necessarily: While that may be a problem too, I've had this happen immediately after the initial setup of the router.
