My air bnb wifi SSID is not showing up as “Available Network” for repeater mode on my AXT1800. The SSID shows up as on option on my phone and regular mac wifi, but not on my AXT1800. What could be causing this?
Maybe the wireless channel of the Airbnb is not something your router is reciving - trying changing the router region in settings?
Whats weird is a bunch of wifis from other apartments are available to connect to. Just not mine.
I’ve noticed a number of issues like this with the 4.x firmware, albeit on GL-A1300.
There is some kind of issue in 4.x firmware which occasionally causes the router to not “see” (or not make available in the UI) certain wifi networks. Oddly, the affected networks often will eventually appear, but it may take several minutes before this happens, and I’m not sure yet if they stay visible once they do appear.
Source: I use the Slate Plus in the field a lot (i.e. in parking lots, connected to store wifi and the like) and have experienced on more than one occasion going somewhere where I know a network is present, I’ve used the network before with the Slate Plus, and yet the Slate Plus will not “see” the network for several minutes once booted up at the same location. Then other times it works just fine.
Since there’s no English bug tracker for GLi firmware, bugs like this slip thru.
