Alt-Gr keys not working

running 1.5.0 kvm firmware, windows on client, accessing via gl cloud using latest firefox, accessing ubuntu desktop.

swedish keyboard.

all keys seem to work except alt-gr keys which means i cannot use backslash or pipe which is a huge problem since i try to control a linux host.

Have you try different browsers? We recommend to use Chrome or Edge.
In addition, could you please confirm both keyboard language set in controled and controling device are Swedish keyboard?

confirm that the keyboard set is swedish both locally and on controlled ubuntu, both works as expected when accessing the LOCALLY.

I have now also used Google Chrome to access ubuntu via gl-inet cloud and the issue persists.

Alt-GR keys does not work when accessing ubuntu remotely.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
We are currently developing and improving the keyboard input functionality for different languages and system types. Please kindly wait.

I can confirm this issue also for the german keyboard layout.

It is also not possible, to paste the “@” symbol via clipboard “paste to remote device” to the remote machine. If I write an “@” symbol, on the remote system there will be a “ symbol instead of an @ (on german keyboard layout, you need the keys “ALT GR” in order to write the @ symbol).

Please ensure that the input method settings, including both the language and the country, are identical for the clipboard on both the controlling and the controlled computers.

And they were able to fix the exact problem:

This problem has already come up in other KVM projects when searching for alt-gr and GitHub ( AltGr + key not working · Issue #812 · jetkvm/kvm · GitHub ).

I have checked the input method and it is the same on both systems. A test with another KVM system (pikvm) showed that it works fine there without any problems. The problem is that the ‘ALT-GR’ key has no function on my Comet Pro (v1.7 release 2), which means that symbols such as @ € { [ ] } \ do not work (German keyboard)

I think the problem is that only European countries have a separate ‘ALT-GR’ key on their keyboards. This key is needed to type a variety of characters. ( AltGr key - Wikipedia )

We have tested when I both set the controlled and controlling device to Spain (Spain) and the alt-gr work fine.

May I know what is your controlled system. And which input method you set in both side.
Do you use Chrome?

My controlling system is Windows 11 (Keyboard and Language both German)

My controlled systems are Ubuntu (Keyboard + Language German) and Windows 11 (Keyboard + Language German)

Testing Browser were Chrome and Firefox.

Chrome and controlled Linux: alt-gr not working, @ via clipboard not working (there will be an “ instead of an @)

Firefox and controlled LInux: alt-gr working!, @ via clipboard not working (there is an “ instead of @)

Chrome + controlled windows: alt-gr working!, @ via clipboard not working (there is an “ instead of @)

Firefox + controlled windows: alt-gr working!, @ via clipboard not working (there is an “ instead of @)

I would like to control my ubuntu remote, the windows system were only for testing.

I have tested my pikvm, there the keyboard and the clipboard method works fine on both systems (so I assume, it’s not language)

Hi, I have tested in my windows device and it work properly, both alt-gr and @, the keyboard works fine as the image below.

I will find a linux system to try.
My setting is as follow. ALL are set to Deutsch (Deutschland). The controlling, controlled device and clipboard language.

We have found the issue when windows control Ubuntu, both set German keyboard, the alt-gr key not work. We will fix it in future update. Thanks for your report and patience.

Also, I notice when windows set to English keyboard, Ubuntu set to German keyboard, the alt-gr will be successfully transfered. You can try and use it as a temperary solution.
