AR300M openvpn problems

AR300M with PIA VPN

Since the last firmware update im experiencing openvpn problems.

On the glinet openvpn page where you can select which server to connect too. I select a different server and apply but it doesnt actually change. The server connecting text no longer appears and instead i get “Please wait”

Also the amount of disconnects has risen. Has anyone got a keepalived or a reconnect script to work?

I have tried factory reset and fresh vpn files but result is the same.

So for older firmware, it works better? Seems PIA has more troubles on the router now.

do you have the phyiscal switch enabled to select vpn on or off?

Ive tried having the switch control the vpn and ive tried disabling it. Im currently trying to eliminate other possibilities for disconnects.

Is there a auto reconnect script ? Im surprised it not a feature on the glinet openvpn page.

If you disable the switch (setting it to be No Function in the webui) you will have to reboot to clear up the duplicate openvpn processes that cause problems.

Since disabling the switch I have not had any issues. It reconnects if needed by itself - as it should.

Ive tried that but it never auto reconnects. I always have to login and go the vpn page and hit apply to reconnect.

is there an error on the page?

I found these entries in system log. No idea if they are the problem or not.
