ATXPC in Dell OptiPlex 3060 / 3080

Hi there,

For a couple days now I’m trying to figure out how to install the ATXPC board in a Dell OptiPlex 3060 and 3080. Since they use their proprietary 5 pin connectors, I need some kind of adaptation of the front panel as well as the mainboard side. I found an adapter to 6 pin DuPont but this gets me only half the way there (at best). The way I see it, I now need another adapter for the actual front panel. Can someone help me out here? My electronics skills are pretty basic (I soldered things a couple times in my life) but beyond that I’m stuck with either off-the-shelve solutions or I would need to receive specific guidance on how to do certain things.

Thank you in advance for any help!

Hi, could you please follow the guide from the link below and see if can help.

Hi Kyrie,

Unfortunately, the guide does not help. Dell uses a 5 pin proprietary connector block which is not covered by your guide.

Hi Kafolepa,

Could you provide your motherboard model or some related photos of the 5-pin connector module?

Here’s the service manual for an OptiPlex 3060 SFF model that has pictures of the case and mainboard. It should be similar for the 3080: https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-an/optiplex-3060-sff/optiplex_3060_sff_service_manual/working-on-your-computer?guid=guid-9ccd6d90-c1d1-427f-9e77-d4f83f3ad2b6&lang=en-us

I found the description of the power switch in the technical manual. You should connect the ATX cable to the position labeled “1”. Could you provide a front-facing photo of the 5-pin cable you mentioned?
