AX1800 goes non-responsive

Hello,

My AX1800 seemingly goes unresponsive every few days and must be rebooted. I’m on the latest firmware, and I’ve got a pretty simple configuration (running AdGuardHome and a Wireguard VPN client). I defaulted everything out and configured it again, but it is still happening.

I’ve enabled the crash log and I can email that to (support@glinet.biz) and reference this thread. Hoping someone can analyze it and give me an idea of what happened The log was exported right after the issue occurred this afternoon. Thanks in advance!

Yeah, that’s what happens to me too but in my case I disabled adguard and vpn alr. Every 2 days, the 2.4 went unconnected and I have to restart…

I got the log.

Two issues:

  1. The logs said Adguard Home used up all the memory. You have a very long list. Can you let me know which list you use and I can try.

  1. The log is fed up with “DNS rebind protection” messages. This may relate to your DNS settings. You can just disable the “DNS rebind protection” in your dns settings to see if this improves.

Thank you Alzhao!

I’ve been using the ‘full’ OISD list from (https://oisd.nl/). It does have very many entries in the list, but based on what I could see in the resource utilization in the Luci/advanced settings, it seemed like maybe the hardware had enough memory to handle it. If I’m running out of memory, I could certainly try another (smaller) list.

I can also disable the DNS rebind protection to see if it helps!

I put the full list on my AX1800 and will try it for a while.

Thank you - I’ve removed the full list and have changed to the basic list, so I’ll see if that has any impact. Unfortunately I’ve not been able to turn off the DNS rebind protection, when I toggle it off and click Apply I get the attached error and it re-enables. The message doesn’t make sense to me since I don’t have other DNS settings enabled, but maybe it’s in conflict with AdGuard or something?

Pls turn off adguard home first. Then try turn the dns rebind protection again.

It may be a bug

You’re correct - once I disabled AdGuard I was able to toggle the DNS Rebind Protection off, and was able to re-enable AdGuard with no problems. Thanks again!
