I recently purchased a Beryl AX and alongside an 8TB Samsung EVO 870 SSD in a UGREEN caddy. This combination of SSD and Caddy has been formatted as NTFS and is discoverable by my Dell XPS17 without and issue. I also have a 5TB Lacie external portable drive that I have been using. THe Beryl AX has no problem in discovering the Lacie drive and I can set up a network share easily (as per GLi-net instructions). The Beryl AX cannot/will not discover the external SSD and Caddy! Why? I have checked all appropriate plug-ins have been installed and tried rebooting Beryl AX before connecting the SSD+Caddy drive. What am I doing wrong (if anything). I am going to try an external power supply to the SSD but I don't think this is the problem as the I'm sure the Lacie drive (non-SSD) would require more power than the SSD+Caddy and the Beryl has no problem with this drive.
Please connect the HDD to your router and run dmesg | tail -n 20
using SSH after it.
Post the output here.

I hope you can help with this.
There is no entry for this device, which might be because of those nasty debug messages.
Can you please try dmesg | grep usb -C 5
instead?
Fore some reason the editor is telling me I can't paste mote than 2 links in a post. What is going on??
Maybe some of those entries look like URLs.
A screenshot is fine as well.
Here you go (copied text into text editor and removed links)

Is there any update on this? I have since tried the SSD+Caddy with and external power supply with no effect, definitely something wrong with the Beryl AX router.
Well, thanks for your initial reply but I realised I needed to sort this one out myself so, I have now (finally) discovered the solution after trying a number of disks and routers the solution was actually quite simple - the new router did not have any of the SMB4 plug-ins installed. Once I installed all of these plug-ins and re-booted the Beryl AND a new Spitz AX and BOTH routers now recognise my custom 8TB SSD plus UGREEN case combo plus a Samsung EVO 8TB SSD deviceand the media partitions on which my files are stored. NO separate power was needed for either SSD disk. Anyway........... just thought I'd provide an update.
