Beryl AX (GL-MT3000) as a repeater to extend mobile hotspot: cannot find Android phones

Hello, everyone:

When Beryl AX (GL-MT3000) is used as a repeater to extend mobile hotspots, it cannot find Android phones; it does find iPad Pro (with 4G LTE)'s hotspot (2.4Ghz).

I tested the router with two Android phones.

  1. Samsung S21 (European)
  2. OnePlus Ace 3 (China mainland).

Both phones' hotspots are set to 5 GHz, and WiFi 6 supports WPA2/3. Unfortunately, GL-MT3000 cannot find them.

Occasionally (Rarely), the router can see them, but at 2.4 GHz (though hotspots have been set at 5 GHz).

Setting the hotspots to 2.4 Ghz or/and having their WiFi 6 disabled brought no luck.

However, the router can see the hotspot of iPad Pro (with 4G LTE).

Has anyone else experienced similar issues?

For 5GHz the region set in all 3 devices is important, as some of the allowed/used channels are different for different regions.
Wifi 6 (ax) could use frequencies in the higher range of 5GHz band than used with Wifi 5 (ac)

Thank you for the response. I have changed the WiFi region, setting it to China, and OnePlus Ace 3 can be found and connected.

The speed as a repeater is still remarkable. (5G network)
