Hey there - not a technical guy and about to travel for a long trip.
A travel router sounded like a good idea and online reviews seemed to favour the Beryl AX over the Slate AX.
Now I'm testing it and getting 10-20% the speed vs when connecting the device directly to the same network. That's surely not common, is it?
I've updated to the latest firmware, 4.6.2. Even did a reset. I tried to force it to 5ghz (repeat mode) and also tried auto.
Everything else left at factory, except for changing the SSID and authentication to WPA3-SAE.
Any tips to speed this thing up a bit would be greatly appreciated. I thought I'd lose say 20-30% of the speed relative to connecting direct, but this very disappointing.
