I have downloaded and installed Beryl MT3000 Beta Release 3, but after I install it, the admin page in the Beryl shows Release 1. Is this simply a naming error or is the wrong version of the firmware being downloaded? See the pics:

I can’t be sure, but I believe that it is a naming error. The compile date of your installed version matches the compile date of the release3 beta download.
If you still have the file you used to install it, you could check it’s SHA256 checksum and see if it matches the one listed for the release3 download. Here is a website that you can check it with: SHA256 File Checksum Online
