Beryl MT3000 Loses Ethernet Connection with TV After Power Off

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing an issue with my GL.iNet Beryl MT3000 router, and I’m hoping someone can help or has encountered a similar problem.

Setup:

GL.iNet Beryl MT3000 (latest firmware installed)

The only connected device is the TV connected via Ethernet to the Beryl MT3000 LAN port.

The Issue :

When I turn off the TV for a while and then turn it back on, the TV doesn’t reconnect to the internet. The Beryl MT3000 shows that no devices are connected via its lan, even though the TV is physically connected via Ethernet.

This is what I’ve Tried:

The same Ethernet cable and setup work perfectly with another router (also from GL.iNet) the Slate plus A1300 (lower end) here the TV remains visible in the connected clients even when turned off and back on.

I assigned a static IP to the TV to ensure that it doesn’t lose its IP address.

Confirmed that the Beryl MT3000 is running the latest firmware.

Performed a factory reset on the router and reconfigured it, but the issue persists.

With the Slate Plus A1300 router, the TV remains connected and visible in the client list even after being turned off and on.

When using the Beryl MT3000, after the TV is turned off, it disappears from the client list, and it doesn’t reconnect when turned back on, I initially thought a problem with the dhcp lease but the router is in its default settings, I also have other glinet and this router is the only one I am experiencing issues with.

Questions:

Has anyone else encountered a similar issue with the Beryl MT3000 or any other GL.iNet routers?

Are there any specific settings or workarounds that I might be missing?

Could this be a hardware defect, or is there something else I should try?

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Is this the op24 version or mtk one?

If op24 you could try mtk's, i already saw a couple of more messages about mt6000 having the same disconnections but its not fully clear to me why.

I suspect there might be a regression in the latest op24 since i also follow OpenWrt main branch issues, currently there is one problem with a backport of mediatek ethernet drivers, but those people complain about the wan not getting the dhcp/crashing after a replug, neither i know if the op24 build had this commit.

So the easiest way to check is trying the mtk version just to eliminate the chance it is that.

Hey, it is the 4.6.2, not sure if op or mk, I upgraded from the app.

I will give a try with the WiFi instead to see if causes the same issue.

If you let me know where I can find those information out I would much appreciate, I am happy to run some tests too.

Thanks

Ok so I have tested if few times, apart from the beryl disconnecting randomly from the internet, the WiFi connection from the very to the tv seem stable, this seems to be an isolated issue with the LAN and possibly dhcp.

I will update if I found more information
