Beryl tethering problem

My Beryl router is losing the USB tethering connection very frequently. At least every 2-3 days.

Setup:

  • Beryl, FW 4.3.19
  • iPhone 11, iOS 18.2.1
  • the iPhone is not doing anything else than providing the tethering hotspot
  • I changed the USB-Lightning cable several times with no effect

Tethering works perfectly fine, fast, no interruptions. But after 2-3 days all of a sudden the connection drops. No reboot is required to re-connect, just unplugging and re-plugging the USB-lightning cable does the trick.

Any suggestion how to fix this? Very often I‘m remote when the tethering drops. Then I can’t access my network remotely anymore before fixing the broken tethering connection on-site. That’s damn annoying.

I would try to reset the iPhones network configuration, this can help from time to time.

It would be good to know what is written in the logs when the tethering drops.

I can’t count how often I resetted both devices already without any effect. USB tethering is very unstable.

How do I get the log to send it to you?

You might need to share the device as well, please follow Technical support via GoodCloud - GL.iNet Router Docs 4 and share the logs with @bruce
