Hi, I bought a mango gl-mt300n-v2 but it doesn’t work with my huawei router e5783b230, mango doesn’t see the Wi-Fi from huawei. I can see that some people managed to solve it by putting scripts etc but I’m not IT savvy. Is there another 4g router I can buy that will just work with my mango?
Atm I’m forced to use tethering but this isn’t stable and mango doesn’t always see that it’s connected to my phone by usb…
Any suggestions/ recommendations would be great!
If you use Huawei modem then it is good if you change the default IP of the gl.inet router from 192.168.8.1 to something else like 192.168.101.1
If the change of the default ip is not working then try a different modem like: Huawei E3372h-320
Huawei E3372h-320 is a cat 4 modem
GL.iNet has cat 6 router like Mudi E750, Spitz X750v2 or Puli XE300 that ar more efficient than a cat 4 modem
Glinet has also a 5G router Spitz AX , however at a different size and price range
The GL-MT300N-V2 has only the 2.4GHz wifi band, so have you set up the Huawei to broadcast over 2.4GHz wifi?
I do not work for and I am not directly associated with GL.iNet
Hi, thank you for responding. I checked and huawei is also 2.4ghz. So it must be something else. I also tried changing IP addresses so they are different for huawei and mango, but it also hasn’t resolved it… is there anything else you can think of?
Is the problem that the GL-MT300-V2 is not able to scan the 2.4GHz wifi, or does it scan and cannot connect?
Upgrade to the latest firmware 3.216 (GL.iNet download center)
If it is not able to scan the 2.4GHz wifi, then try the following:
- Set the Huawei to use Channel 1, 6 and/or 11, then try scanning again
- Enter the Huawei wifi SSID and security manually by selecting “Other…” after scanning
- Log into LuCI and go to Network → Wireless → Scan
If it does scan and cannot connect, then check on the Huawei:
- Wireless mode is 802.11n or 802.11b/g/n
- Wireless security is WPA2-PSK or WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK
- Channel width is 20MHz
- Wireless password is entered correctly
Hello, thanks for all the suggestions. After all the gl inet support responded to my email and told me to ‘login to our router and change the IP to 192.168.10.1 first. Then make sure the wifi source is 2.4G with WPA2 PSK encryption.’
I’ve done that and it started to work, magic!
Thank you again for helping me out.
