Brand new SLATE AX, works only for a few seconds

Hi all,

I just received a SLATE AX (GL-AXT1800), and I can plug it in via ethernet to my computer (Via the LAN) port, and then I can browse to “192.168.8.1” no problem, and get the welcome (it asks for language, then to set a password twice, then I enter the setup menu thing).

The issue is, no matter what I do, after a few seconds it then won’t let me click on any options. It comes up with a pink alert - “Timeout in response. Please check the network environment or reboot the device”.

Any ideas?

SOLVED! If anyone has this issue in the future, the solution is to change computers. I changed to another computer, plugged in the ethernet cable, went to “192.168.8.1” on the browser on that other computer, and then it prompted me to login to the GLINET portal etc, and then it worked. It intermittently showed the same error - “Timeout in response. Please check the network environment or reboot the device” - but in a few seconds it went away each time. Odd but true.
