Bricked Slate AX GL-AXT1800 after U-Boot Firmware Update - No LEDs, No Boot

I attempted to update the firmware of Slate AX GL-AXT1800 via U-Boot, and I fear I may have selected the wrong firmware file during the process. Now, the router seems to be completely bricked.

Here are the symptoms:

  • No LED: When I plug in the router, absolutely no LED illuminate – not even a flicker.
  • No Boot: The router does not seem to boot at all.
  • Cannot access U-Boot: I've tried the usual methods (holding the reset button during power-on) to get back into U-Boot mode, but it's unresponsive.

I'm concerned I've completely bricked the device. Has anyone encountered a similar situation with the GL-AXT1800 or other GL.iNet routers?

Any advice, suggestions, or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. I'm really hoping to revive my router

  1. Please try to change the power/data cable.

  2. Try again by pressing and holding the reset button, then plugging in the power, observing the LED status, and whether you can enter the u-boot page.
