I'm about to purchase either a brune2 or a beryl. Don't need wifi so would prefer the brume 2, however I remember lots of reports about it bricking on reboots or updates.
A quick search hasn't made it clear if this issue is now fixed, or ongoing? If there are still issues or if it likely to brick I will go with the beryl.

IDK anything about a Burme v2 bricking but I'm to understand it's now fully supported by mainline OWRT so I'd be surprised if there were issues using the GL.iNet firmware. I should mention the following as it seems relevant for you:
