Brume 2 uboot update failed

Brume had a glitch. Thought to update firmware to resolve it. Firmware update web page hung on 0% progress. Figured it crashed. Unplugged and powered up. No web page.

Trying to restore using uboot. Uboot web page comes up. Firmware for Brume 2 is all bin files, no img files on website.

Firmware uploads. Press Update button fails.

Something went wrong during updateProbably you have chosen wrong file. Please, try again or contact with the author of this modification. You can also get more information during update in U-Boot console. U-Boot 2022.07-rc3 (Sep 12 2022 - 19:58:08 -0700)"

Have tried the following. No issues with SHA256 checksum.
openwrt-mt2500-4.1.1-1105-1667584249.bin
openwrt-mt2500-4.5.16-0330-1711782730.bin
openwrt-mt2500-4.7.4-0328-1743128340.bin

All result in same error. Do i need an img file??? Where do i get it?

Help.

So I read the other threadhttps://forum.gl-inet.com/t/gl-mt2500-upgrade-from-4-6-8-to-4-7-0-fails/51912/29 about some browser issues with varying incompatible opinions on which browsers do and don't work.

Using MacOS. Firefox failed. Safari failed. Was going to try Chrome. Then I pressed the back button on Safari not in the latest open window and the browser says "Update in progress".....

Hello,

Please try to upgrade the uboot first, and then upgrade the firmware v4.7.4-xxx.bin.
Please upgrade them on Google Chrome or MS Edge.

If the Brume 2 does not work or upgrade fail, please contact cs team cs@gl-inet.com via email.

I used Edge to update uboot.
For actual firmware, only Firefox worked in debrick mode, which does not make any sense but I can understand why people are bricking their Brume 2s

Chrome on MacOS appears to work.

Uboot firmware upgrade reports success, but doesn't reboot. Reboot into uboot firmware update mode shows U-Boot 2022.07-rc3 (Feb 24 2025 - 15:04:07 +0800).

Firmware update reports success but hangs at rebooting. Tried power cycle; power cycle and 4sec reset. Router fails to boot.

Tried openwrt-mt2500-4.7.4-0328-1743128340.bin
and openwrt-mt2500-4.5.16-0330-1711782730.bin.

Can't figure out how to access the uboot console text mode.

Waiting to see what tech support says next.

Had to put the network connection back into DHCP automatic mode. Brume 2 is alive again.
