Hello, I’m looking for help. Give me a bit of latitude while I explain my setup.
I’ve purchased the BRUME2 and the Slate 7 to carry when I travel. For years I’ve used an Enterprise grade network stack in my home. Everything from the Router, to switches, to WiFi 7 PoE powered access points. I have seperate VLANS for IoT, media / tv devices and our personal devices. For remote access I use a Raspberry Pi running pivpn / openvpn. I’ve carried GLI.net devices with me for years to connect to hotel, airline wifi and it will create the tunnel back home so I can access what I need to. I control the firewall rules that do the port forwarding to my Pi for VPN access.
Now, my Pi works great. I’m not going to make changes there. I would like to setup the BRUME2 basically as an appliance that runs wireguard. I do not want it in a router role. I would love to only use the LAN port and create firewall rules on my FW that will forward wireguard traffic to the BRUME2. That will then grant access to my network.
How can I best accomplish this?

May I know do you want to set Brume2 up as the WireGuard server at home?
And have Slate7 connect to your home Brume2 via WireGuard VPN when connecting remotely?
If so and there are no clients connected to Brume2, you can set Brume2 to router mode and set up as the WireGuard server — just make sure Brume2 is connected to the same subnet as the Raspberry Pi.
I ended up going in a different direction. My router (TPLink Omada ER605) can run WireGuard. I did the setup there and accomplished what I wanted. In the end I may end up replacing my beloved Raspberry Pi that’s worked brilliantly for so long.
I’ve already done tests from multiple networks with the Slate7 calling home and it works great.
I’m heading to Japan in a week and looking forward to connecting back home so I can watch all my streaming apps like I’m sitting in my living room. I will likely return the BRUME2 as the router functionality is unnecessary in my environment.
