I have an overseas location that I travel to each year. I use a vpn service usually Nord or Surfshark at that site to connect to my usa movie services...prime netflix etc as they are not supported locally. When I am travelling in that country away from my homebase in that country, I would still like to connect back and stream from my homebase, such that it appears that I am still at my homebase using the same vpn. Will Brune 2 allow this ? Let's say I have Brune 2 connected after my modem and before my router and its setup as a vpn client for a surfshark address in the US. Can it also be setup as a Vpn server so that I can connect to it from remote and still use the vpn client and stream from it ? Any special set up needed or is it fairly easy to implement ?
Setup a wireguard server on the Brume 2 you will have port forward on isp router/modem
Ok thanks for the response. I have set up client vpn as a surfshark connection and setup the server vpn as wireguard. I turned on "enable VPN cascading". I am next to the modem/brume/router .Testing this with my phone with android wireguard app installed by disconnecting my phone from local wifi and using mobile data through cellular network. My phone connects and I have internet from the Brume. Ip on the phone is reporting same as the surfshark connection on the Brume.
Now I am trying to also access the admin panel of the Brume from the remote phone . I get a connection is not secure when trying to access 192.168.8.1 through the wireguard connection, but if I connect to the Brume through local wifi it's ok. Are there any other settings I need to setup, or do I need to use Cloud to access the Brume admin panel ?
Just to recap, my Brume2 is after modem before wifi router. I have vpn client on Brume as wireguard to surfshark , I have vpn server set to wireguard. My vpn out through wifi works. My vpn in from a phone with wireguard app on mobile cellular works, and can stream from same surfshark vpn on Brume. I can't access the admin panel from the phone, I just get a spinning circle now. The vpn dashboard shows the vpn server client ( my phone) as online with virtual ip 10.0.0.2/32.
However I am able to connect to goodcloud and get in to the admin panel remotely that way now, so I do have a way now to change settings remotely. Just curious now why unable to get to admin on the vpn.
The problem apparently is due to trying to access the admin panel from a mobile cellular connection. I was out today and connected my phone to a local stores free wifi, and was able to connect to the admin panel from there with no problem. Thanks for the help....
