I’ve been having this odd issue for a while, and I couldn’t figure out the cause. When I’m typing inside the remote session, several times a day I’ll be typing and sudDENLY I’M IN ALL CAPS. Caps lock is not on, shift is not pressed down. This always happens after I use the shift key to capitalize or a symbol.
I’ve found that it occurs when both the left and right shift key are pressed at the same time. It essentially gets stuck in shift even if it’s not being pressed. After it’s stuck, the only way to release it is to press the stuck shift key again.
This is reproduceable 100% of the time. I’ve also been able to confirm it’s the KVM and not the remote device because it shows on the virtual keyboard. If you pull up the virtual keyboard, and press left and right shift, you will see that the last shift key you press is stuck down.
I’m not sure if this is a configurable setting or if it is an actual bug, but it is an undesirable behavior. It’s very annoying to suddenly get stuck in shift when typing, especially if entering a password that uses special characters.
