Cannot route over wireguard if using the same 192.168.x.x prefix

Hello,

I have a GL-AR750s / Slate with the latest V3.100 firmware, and am running into the following issue:
When connecting to a guest network with a 192.168.x.x address I never am able to successfully route traffic over the Wireguard (in client mode). I would like to note that my Wireguard network is 192.168.20.x/24 and the hotspot’s network does not interfere (e.g. 192.168.6.x/24). I have a similar Wireguard configuration on my phone, iPad & Mac laptop, and do not run into the same issue.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Can you check if your guest network has a netmask 255.255.0.0? If it has 255.255.255.0 it should not be a problem.

The netmask is /24 or 255.255.255.0, so that isn’t it. Did anyone else run into this problem?

Wireguard is a VPN, and VPN implies routing, and your Slate is a router.

Can’t route within a within a given scope…

I use a 10-dot for the WG connection when going point-to-point (e.g. WG server at Home, and WG Client on my USB-150), and there, things generally work.

Yes, pls use 10.x.x.x for wireguard it should work.
