As the title says. I can receive, but I cannot send messages. It always gives me this -32602 error code.
Everything is up to date and the firmware version is 4.8.3 beta. Modem version: EM060KGLAAR01A12M2GA.
Hi, it seems to be related to the encoding format of the text message or the characters. Does your text message contain any special characters?
Could you PM me the complete text of the message to verify the issue?
No matter what the message contains it will won't send it. The message was "Test".
Meanwhile I did some research and it looks like the modem use a different mode. The modem can support PDU and TEXT mode. But no matter if I force TEXT mode (AT+CMGF=1) it will stay in PDU mode (AT+CMGF=0). As I understand the GUI tries to send messages in TEXT mode and it doesn't convert it before. This is what might cause the conflict.
The SMS encoding mode is PDU by default and cannot be changed. Router cannot send SMS seems to to due to IMS status. Now it should work. Could you try it again?
Now I can confirm that SMS sending is working.

I cannot tell you, because it fixed remotely by the GL.iNet staff. As far as I remember the problem caused by an incorrect AT configuration. But not sure. I'm not actively using the modem nowadays. @Cathy or someone from the staff might can tell what was the exact issue and the solution.
Are you having issues just receiving SMS, or with both sending and receiving? Could you check if SMS works in other devices?
Also, please execute the following AT commands and share the response to check:
AT+QCFG="IMS"
AT+CGDCONT?
AT+CGPADDR
AT+qnvfr="/nv/item_files/modem/mmode/sms_domain_pref"
Too many problems with the beta 4.8, including wireless just disappearing. So I went back to the last stable release.
I now have another problem. I receive SMS but there is no body, just empty. For example I send a message asking for my balance, and it comes back empty text.
How can I see the contents of the messages? Thanks!
