I recently bought a GL-iNet Spitz AX for my RV. (fv = 4.0 0704release5) (latest 2025-03-17)
Everything works great using it with a sim card (Provider = Telia, Country = Sweden 5G)
My problem is that my security cameras won't connect to the Wi-Fi.
My cameras are Reolink Argus 3 Pro, how ever i try to connect them they will never connect.
The cameras worked fine with my old router (Teltonika RUT 240).
The cameras connect just fine to my home Wi-Fi (Unifi).
The cameras connect fine to my parents Wi-Fi (Asus)
The cameras connect fine to my travel router (GL-iNet AXT1800 Slate) when that router is connected via lan (there is no sim card option)
But the cameras will NOT connect to the new GL-iNet Spitz AX using the SIM as uplink.
( i have not tried it without SIM and lan uplink instead.)
The step that always fail is after the camera has scanned the QR code from my phone to connect to the Wi-Fi, then the countdown will run out and then fail en go back to making the "pairing mode" sound.
Different router settings on the GL-iNet Spitz AX i have tried, with no luck:
Separate 2.4 and 5 GHz SSIDs with lowercase names and mixed lower and capital letters
Turning off Tailscale (i prefer to have tailscale on)
Tried to connect to the guest network, with and without "AP isolation"
Tried "Enable Randomized BSSID" on / off
Tried the different Wi-Fi Modes ( i prefer the 11a/n/ac/ax )
Tried with "Enable IPv6" on / off (seems like my provider TELIA don't support IPv6)
Tried "IGMP Snooping" version 3 on / off
Tried "Network Acceleration" on / off
Tried "Enable full clone NAT" on 7 off
Tried "Enable SIP ALG" on / off
I have seen another thread with someone having similar problem, it looked like his solution was adding another access point from another vendor, which seems as a bad solution.
Hi @bruce, thanks for trying to help me out.
I would like to know if the "issue syslog" is included in the "logread.tar" that downloads when i klick the button "Export Log" on the /system/log/ page?
In that compressed file i find the files cloud.log, crash.log, kernel.log and system.log.
Is the "system.log" the "issue syslog" you are refering to?
Or do i have to find that one someware else?
Today i made 3 tests on the spitz and downloaded the logs after each test:
With the original SIM card (TELIA) as uplink.
Rebooted the router, connected my laptop and phone to the wifi and tried to connect the Reolink Argus 3 pro with no luck, the camera times out when trying to connect to the wifi.
Downloaded the logs and named them "logread_telia_sim.tar"
With my phones SIM card (VIMLA) as uplink.
Rebooted the router, connected my laptop and phone to the wifi and tried to connect the Reolink Argus 3 pro with no luck, the camera times out when trying to connect to the wifi.
Downloaded the logs and named them "logread_vimla_sim.tar"
With NO SIM card and using WAN from a fiber connection as uplink.
Rebooted the router, connected my laptop and phone to the wifi and tried to connect the Reolink Argus 3 pro with no luck, the camera times out when trying to connect to the wifi.
Downloaded the logs and named them "logread_wan.tar"
When i look in the logs i can only see my laptop 192.168.77.100 and my phone 192.168.77.110 connect to the router.
During the camera trying to connect (60 seconds) there is nothing beeing added to the system log, and i can not see the mac address from the camera.
The mac adress of the camera is: 48:70:1E:B0:91:3C
On any other router i have tested to connect the camera on 2.4 or 5 ghz it will connect in 2-3 seconds.
This GL-iNet Spitz AX is updated to the latest firmware 4.7.4 and i have updated the U-Boot Bootloader v250225 that you guys sent out a e-mail about. logread_wan.tar (182 KB) logread_vimla_sim.tar (185.5 KB) logread_telia_sim.tar (183 KB)
It means that the GL router does not refuse the WiFi connection from camera, but the camera may not be able to scan the WiFi of the GL router.
For comparison, the phone and laptop can scan to GL WiFi and connect normally.
Please try setting the WiFi configuration of X3000 to the same as the AXT1800, including SSID, password, channel, encryption method, etc. Then turn off the power of the AXT1800 and try to connect the X3000.
In addition, you can also consult Reolink Support.
Update:
Here is the format of the QR code create from Reolink APP, you can manually create the QR code on the online website QR code generator: <QR><S>gallon</S><P>Spectrum4321</P></QR>
