Can't reach remote router interface across openvpn connection

I have a Flint AX1800 running OpenVPN server and a Slate AXT1800 running OpenVPN client. I have configured routing and reserved tunnel endpoints.

I can ping from a host (192.168.16.199) on the Flint LAN to a host (192.168.32.131) on the Slate LAN.

I can ping from the host on the Slate LAN back to the host on the Flint LAN.

I can ping from the host on the Slate LAN to the Flint core router interface, 192.168.16.1 in this case.

But…

I can’t ping from the host on the Flint LAN to the Slate core router interface, 192.168.32.1 in this case.

I made an SSH connection to the Flint core router at 192.168.16.1 and from there I CAN ping the Slate core router interface at 192.168.32.1

Why can’t I reach the Slate core from the Flint host?

Hi

Have you checked the firewall rules and used TCPDump, as mentioned in a previous post, to capture traffic in order to determine which device the problematic traffic is terminating at?

I applied beta firmware 4.8.4 to the Slate, and this fixed my issue. same firewall settings. just new firmware.

Thanks for the update, glad the issue has been resolved.

When will firmware 4.8.4 become a stable release for the Slate AXT1800, instead of beta?

Currently, we don’t have a specific timeline to share. It may still take a little while; we are currently working on the stable v4.8.3 release for the AXT1800.

I did not see 4.8.3 in the Beta tab, only 4.8.4

I’m using the beta 4.8.4 at this time. Does it have any known problems?

The stable v4.8.3 release is still undergoing internal testing and has not yet been released in the Download Center.

There are currently no known regression bugs specific to this release.
If you encounter any issues, please feel free to report them to us.
