Can't set up port forwarding att bgw 320-500

Hi trying to set up port forwarding on my att router. I used the port 55555 selected the right device. Although when I go to check the port through yougetsignal.com the port remains closed. Don't have to disable IPv6? Some help would be much appreciated

I did find this. Should I try setting up this way?

If your goal is to test WireGuard: You can't check WireGuard ports using online scanners. The only way to test is by using the WireGuard app on a PC or phone.

Why is it you can't test the routers port is open with online server ?

Because WireGuard uses UDP and does not answer if you don't have the correct private key.

Thanks for the reply according to the photo above it's uses port 51820 and UDP... I will try setting my computer up like that. It says I need to reserve the IP under networking.. is that the same up address that shows up on the gl configuration router page when I login in? Also do you know how to do the IP allocation or reserve the IP under networking for att?

Can you take a screenshot of the ATT interface where you create the port forwarding rule?

Appreciate it

What's the goal at the end? Which service do you want to expose?

I'm trying to open a port for the gl router so that I can make the connection and finally finish the installation. According to the photo I I added at top of thread the port number needs to be 51820 UDP. Which I have not tried. I was using the website you get signal to check ports although according to your advice it's not the right website ... If this is the case I'll set it up like it is at the top.. open the port and just try to make the connection from my client router.. although I'm stuck on being told I should reserve the IP networking. I took screenshots of a YouTube video because I'm not at my computer at the moment.

Thanks again

So you want to use WireGuard server, correct?

In that case just open port 51820 UDP from ATT to your GL and test by using your mobile phone and the WireGuard app.

Do you know how to do the reserve up for networking part?

Also is it pretty straight forward in the app how to test? I've never downloaded the app before.

Another way to test would to obviously set up a new connection with the new port in my gl... Send that dns info over to the other router and see up that side and just try it right ?

What exactly do you mean?

Should be pretty straight forward. Just install the app, import the config, test.
See WireGuard Server - GL.iNet Router Docs 4

Thanks for that link !

Would you happen to know how to reserve ip for networking?

Depends on your router. Should be somewhere next to DHCP options.
Can't help because I don't know that model.

Thanks
