Captive Portal / Guest

Hi!

I am tempted by one of these routers. I would just like to know if anyone has run a captive portal on one ssid and a openVPN connection on another ssid. I have a small holiday let and I think this could be the perfect solution! One wlan for guests and one for me to connect to home.

This is possible of course. But I think it needs configuration.

For captive portal, you can use nodogsplash. You can bind it to one Interface, which is bind to the guest wifi.

For openvpn, the firewall settings now router all traffic from LAN to openvpn. So you need to create a guest wifi, bind it to a network (don’t use LAN, you can create a guestlan).

Sorry this is too generally, but I don’t have time to test in detail.
