Carriers Supported by SIMPoYo and EIOTCULB Physical eSIM Cards

A post was split to a new topic: Mudi7/E5800 Dito eSIM doesn’t activate

Hi, first post..and a newb question!

So I’m getting an X2000 for a static situation in the UK to provide wifi into a gallery. Thinking of going with Smarty as it’s on the list for compatibility. Two questions:

  1. Can I use a regular sim i.e a sim that has a phone number/texting or does it have to be a ‘data only’ sim? The reason I ask is that the regular sims offer a much better deal on Smarty than the ‘data only’ sims.
  2. Is there any advantage to an esim in a static situation where it will be installed and just sit there providing wifi in the UK- why should I go for an esim in this scenario?

Thanks for any advice/help.

Hello @pinki

  1. The regular Smarty sim should work as well. From what I understand, there are no specific restrictions on Smarty sim cards.
  2. Both eSIM and regular SIM cards are okay. The advantage of eSIM is that if you plan to switch to a different carrier, you can easily install a new eSIM remotely without needing to be on-site. You can choose based on your specific needs

Thanks Cathy, that’s good news.

Getting real expensive now.. I have tried four different so far, including two from the recommended stores. I am in the UK, haven't seen much in this thread about UK though?

keep getting same error message for each sim: Auth client fail. | exit status 52.

Hello,
Which esim service are you using? Could you share the full eSIM log with us to review?
