Mudi7/E5800 Dito eSIM doesn’t activate

Wondering if this info can be added to the list of compatible eSIMs for the Mudi 7 GL-E5800.

For Philippines: Smart and Gomo eSIMs activate fine. They work great!

But Dito eSIM doesn’t activate. Error message is:

Err message: Get profile failed. | {"header":{"functionExecutionStatus":{"status":"Failed","statusCodeData":{"subjectIdentifier":"unknown","reasonCode":"3.11","message":"undefined error.","subjectCode":"8.10.3"}}}}

All eSIMs were brand new. I then tested adding the Dito eSIM to my phone: it activated fine. It just doesn’t want to activate on the Mudi 7.

I'm curious does the physical Sim work for smart, globe and Dito?

I haven’t tried yet because I’m using all eSIMs on my phones and the Mudi 7. If I were to guess: Smart and Globe (Gomo uses the same network as Globe) will work OK.

It's just I'm planning to visit the Philippines again since I learnt form my last visit the importance of having WiFi especially if you have to catch a grab from the terminal or a taxi from the terminal

Following our tests, the DITO esim might have device restriction and is not compatible Mudi 7.

Are you sure its not a compatibility error or a parser issue, i found this in my research, it just makes me wonder that is all i have two ways to confirm, ill order a mudi 7 for a friend and ask them to test dtio because the live in the Philippines, and they are getting a Dito siim

Error code 3.11/8.10.3 being labeled "undefined error" is exactly what you'd expect from a parsing/protocol mismatch, not a deliberate rejection. A real allowlist block usually returns a clean, specific rejection message from the SM-DP+ per the GSMA spec (something like "eligibility check failed" or a defined error), not "undefined."

Given error 8.10.3 / "undefined error," here's what's most likely happening technically:

ES9+ interface mismatch: The SM-DP+ and the device's LPA talk over ES9+ (the HTTPS-based profile download interface). If GL-iNet's embedded LPA sends a slightly non-standard initiateAuthentication or authenticateClient request — wrong TLS cipher suite preference, a missing/malformed header, or an unexpected JSON/ASN.1 encoding quirk — DITO's SM-DP+ (likely a third-party platform like Truphone, IDEMIA, or Comprion under the hood, not something DITO built themselves) may reject it with a generic error rather than a spec'd one, because the request never got parsed far enough to hit a defined error path.

Certificate chain issue: eSIM download requires validating certificate chains (EUM cert, eUICC cert) against GSMA's root CI. If GL-iNet's module ships with an outdated or incomplete cert bundle, the handshake can fail at the mutual-TLS/cert-validation stage — again, this would look like a vague failure rather than "device not permitted."

This tracks with why Smart and Gomo worked fine on the same Mudi: different underlying SM-DP+ vendor/platform, with a request-handling implementation that's more tolerant of whatever GL-iNet's LPA is sending slightly "off-spec."

Also if i go there in April next year ill test it out and report back.

I've tested DITO eSIM in V4.8.5 but failed to install it. Mudi 7 V4.10 did not adjust the eSIM OS version, so the results should be the same

So in theory and esim adaptor should be fine with it?

With the only issue being the profile switching having to be done on a phone.

So there is a chance, in a future update for example when op25 is available on the Mudi 7 the esim os version will change?

I'm just curious because I'm planning to order a mudi 7 for a friend of mine and I'm also planning to go to the Philippines next year, which means I was planning for an esim for the Mudi 7.

The eSIM OS of the SIMPoYo eSIM adapter is the same as the Mudi 7, and it's not compatible with Dito eSIM as well.

That is a shame to hear, I'll try with this and see if it works, I'll ask my friend in the Philippines to try it with a Dito Sim and I'll order her a Mudi 7
