I know the expected use-case is for this to be (semi-)perm-mounted inside an RV or at a cabin, but this is now my new travel router (my LTE/5G plans are faster than most hotels lately) and while the antennae are excellent for performance, not so much for portability.
Anyone got case ideas? Any chance GL-iNet will spec/create one?
It’s really a good idea, I will forward this information to our E-commerce team, and hope they can find more suitable packet case, as the product accessory.
As promised I’ve just created the travel set as sharing with you the outcome. That way (1) the antennas ready to go without disassembling them and (2) I use power bank to be independent from power sockets.
I’m happy with the result. Nest week I plan my biz trips so will see it in the field.
What do you think?
These are amazing @tangent - Do you have links to the cable extensions and adapters for the antennae? I’m a one-bagger traveler, so I am incredibly interested to hear more, if possible!
I have been attempting to figure out which would be best for my use case, and I am having a hard time finding solutions to make the router essentially foldable as well as minimizing the need to constantly connect and disconnect the antennae. This solves all my problems and maximizes the space I need in my bag.
GL.iNet has launched the Travel Large Organizer Pouch Case for the Spitz X3000! It sounds perfectly tailored for scenarios like camping, road trips, or general travel.
Note: since the case has size constraints, the antennas of the Spitz X3000 need to be detached before storage.
