Change empty password in gl-ar150

HI

Is very simple question, there is any option to not need to change password with interactive mode in GL-AR environment? I would like to change with a simple

passwd root -d ‘paassword’

Appears changed but not apply, rebooting or not.

I need to change using a command, very simple.

echo -e "linuxpassword\nlinuxpassword" | passwd root
