Charge/tether Iphone SE from X3000

Curious about something. Previously I have had my iphone se tethered to my X3000 without issue. It would stay connected long term unless I rebooted or the phone updated. These devices are remote in my RV, so not handy to keep watch on really, but I can monitor remotely. In any case, the router no longer seems to be keep the phone charged all the way. I am not sure when this started exactly as the tether is my backup connection.

I have tried a new cable and that did not make a difference (OEM iphone cable). I have moved the phone to another charger and it works fine. I have disabled optimized charging (it was previously enabled I am certain) to troubleshoot.

If I were guessing, this may have happened when I upgraded to 4.4.13, but I honestly don't know.

Is there any way to query the usb hardware to see what the power output is? Has anyone else noticed this or heard of this issue?

Hi,

Discussed with R&D, the firmware does not support the work current and voltage of the USB interface.
And, there is no limit on the USB interface in the firmware.

You can try the following commands and turn off the dynamic mode:
echo on > /sys/bus/usb/devices/1-1/power/control

I have not had this issue since I upgraded to 4.7.1 release 1 code. If might just be chance, but it has remained connected via usb tether since the upgrade. If the issue crops up again, I will test the command and see if it makes a difference.

Just so I understand, this command won't cause any additional battery wear turning this off, correct? I believe the phone will prevent any overcharge issues.

This command has nothing to do with the battery overcharge.

Thanks @bruce. I just checked and my phone is no longer tethered to my router, so it might have died again. I will check on it and try the change you mentioned to see if that helps.
