Client Mode AR300M / MT300N-V2

Hello.

I hope someone can help me with this:

My office is in front of my house, just across the street. I would like to use the Internet connection that I have in the office also at home.

My plan is as follows:

  1. Connecting a GL-AR300M or GL-MT300N-V2 router (in client mode) with the AP that is in my office. I don’t need it to act as a WiFi repeater.

  2. From here I would connect via ethernet cable to another WiFi router that I have in the center of my house, this one configured with a different subnet.

  3. This last router would be the one that would give ethernet and WiFi access to the devices that I use at home.

Is it possible to configure these routers to work in client mode as I need? If the answer is yes, which of those two routers would do its job better?

Thanks,

So the connection is :
Office wifi-> GL router->Home router->Last router->Devices
AR300M will do this job more stable.

Both router can be configured in Client mode. We call it extender mode.

Go to more settings->network mode and choose extender.

It really depends on you current router. Most of the time, they should be compatible.

A post was split to a new topic: Extender mode - will it bridge LAN port?
