Configure Wireguard Server with IPv6 on Slate 7 (GL-BE3600)

Hello,

I have 2 Slate 7 routers, and I wanted to configure one of them to act as my Wireguard Server, unfortunately my ISP is on a CGNAT, and due to this I don't have an dedicated Public Ipv4, however it seems that I can get IPv6 which I already activated.

How can I configure the Wireguard Server on the Slate7 to work with IPv6 instead?

I configured the Slate 7 with the PPPoE credentials, so now it acts as my main router instead of the router from my ISP.

Any advice on how I can make this work?

I would like to use Wireguard with IPv6 instead of IPv4, since on IPv6, I can unlock and forward ports on my ISP.

Everytime I tried to test the Wireguard Server configuration on a mobile device to act as the Wireguard client, the VPN connects on the mobile device but there is no internet access whatsoever.

At the moment as an alternative I configured Tailscale, but the issue with Tailscale is that the Upload speed while connected on another device is like 10/15 Mbps, and the download speed is ok, above 100 mbps, on a 1GB Fiber connection, but I would still prefer to get Wireguard running.

Thank you,

Appreciate any help I can get.

Currently, the BE3600 running firmware V4.7 does not support IPv6 in its VPN server.

You’ll need to wait for firmware v4.8 (released for this model) to enable this feature.
If you require IPv6 support immediately, contact customer service via email to request upgrading to replace the model which it supported firmware v4.8.

Hello Alen,

Thank you for your response.

I just sent them an E-Mail as you suggested, hopefully I can get the IPv6 Support, as this is the only way I could make Wireguard Server work, as my ISP is using CGNAT for IPv4..and currently the Firmware 4.7 only supports Ipv4 for Wireguard...

Fingers crossed, and I appreciated your help.

I tried to email the address you provided me but unfortunately without any response so far
