Connectivity issues on Mudi V2 (GL-E750V2)

Hello there,

I have been trying to use the Mudi V2 in a few scenarios and have been facing the following issues:

  1. When data-roaming to China, ShenZhen, the router would often just give "No Internet" error on the screen and be unusable. I will have to power cycle the router and hope it works (60% of the time, it will work for a few minutes, then show good signal with China Mobile and "No Internet" comes up again. The other 40% of the time it will show no signal.). Taking the SIM card out and putting it into my Samsung handphone would work just fine.

  2. When data-roaming to Malaysia, Johor Bahru, the router would give a similar issue as point 1, but unlike in China it will never show no signal as it will show that it is connected to the carrier. Unlike in China, the router will stop working (no WiFi signal) despite being turned on and showing "No Internet" on the screen. Taking the SIM card out and putting it into my Samsung handphone would work just fine.

  3. When using in Singapore, the router appears to work just fine, although it will not switch carriers properly when switching from Malaysia carrier to Singapore carrier, and I have to power cycle the router just to get it to work again.

Is there any advise on what could be done? I have tried this same SIM card in other MiFi routers and it works just fine without any hiccups, and also in my Samsung phone with no issues at all.

Hello,

Is this card a physical ordinary SIM card (Roaming Activate), or a GLiNet eSIM card?
What the SIM card original ISP is?

Please try upgrading the latest firmware first.

Hello Bruce,

This is a physical ordinary SIM card. The original ISP is CMLink Singapore (China Mobile), which is an MVNO of Singtel.

Firmware is at latest version.

Hi @NicholasChanCJ
Could you provide the following info when No internet error occurs again:

  • the system log. Export it from the admin panel->SYSTEM->log
  • the modem-debug file. Download it from admin panel->INTERNET->Cellular->Modem Management, as shown below:

You can PM me the message.

Hi Cathy,

I will get the information as requested. For now, I can only get for Point 2 (roaming into Malaysia) and Point 3 (normal usage in Singapore) for now, and will get the information for Point 1 (roaming into China) sometime in a few months and PM you.

Thank you.

Hi @Cathy

I managed to do some testing of the Mudi V2 yesterday in Singapore (home network), unfortunately I am unable to get the answers as the issues faced is different.

  1. Turning on the Mudi V2, it will take about 3 - 5 minutes to get connected to CMLink. SSID will be visible and can be connected to and will work for a while.
  2. After 1 - 2 minutes the screen will say "No internet" and the handphone will be unable to connect to the Mudi V2, despite the SSID being visible.

As thus there is no logs I can get. Is there any other things I can do?

Hello @NicholasChanCJ

Do you have a PC and connect the Mudi to PC through a ethernet cable to catch the log?

Hi Cathy,

I managed to get into the Mudi V2 during the "no internet" issue while roaming into Malaysia. However nothing can be seen and the screen only loads partially with no working links. I cannot do the logs download as you instructed. Please refer to the picture attached.

Hi, this appears to be a page load problem. Could you reboot router to try again?
If still not working, please email to support@gl-inet.com for further assiatance.
Thank you.

Hello Cathy,

I did an 8 hour connectivity test of my Mudi V2 from 21 - 22 April 2025. Testing environment as follows:

  • CMLink Singapore SIM card installed
  • Mudi V2 placed at a fixed location (table) in Singapore with direct window access; 4G LTE signal was full on 2 other mobile phones (1 Samsung, 1 XiaoMi).
  • Laptop connected to Mudi V2 using Ethernet (as Mudi V2 WiFi keeps disconnecting itself randomly)

Within 10 minutes of powering on Mudi V2, this is the first error I faced.

This is the Log and Modem Debug as requested during this first error.

Subsequently about 20 minutes later, this is the error I faced.

After about 9 hours in the morning, I checked on the connection and this is the error I faced.

Please advise. The Mudi V2 is pretty much non-functional for what I bought it for and I am not sure if it is a defective modem, defective mainboard or what.

Sorry for the problem. Please contact the support email (support@gl-inet.com) for warranty, and bring the forum post along. Or you can PM me your email address, and we will assign relevant personnel to follow up. Thanks
