Constant wifi drop out with Flint 2

Hi

Just bought a new Flint2 yesterday. On setting up the wifi sitting 6 feet away from the router android mobile disconnects whenever a high bandwith session like instagram, titok is started. Wired connections are fine. The wifi is connected with decent RSSI but the ssid states connected without internet. WPA2-PSK, 11ac,an ,ax,80 Mhz, medium Tx power. No apps installed, bog standard settings. I have tried different power, different channels, no auth..wifi analyser does not show anything unexpected.

Wed Jun 5 10:34:22 2024 daemon.notice netifd: Wireless device 'mt798612' is now up

Please upgrade the firmware to the newest available version: GL.iNet download center

Feel free to try Beta as well.

Can you try to forget your wireless settings and then re-connect?

It looks to me that the device in question is stuck on a eapol handshake, it doesn't look like DFS radar to me but first try this.

Note that this might happen again if you change between the firmwares with MTK SDK and OpenWrts MT76, the images differ in such way that the wireless part is also different, some devices can misbehave in such scenarios, and still try to handshake with a dated eapol handshake which no longer exist on the router.

Hi , rebooting the phone or forgetting the network helps for a while then reverst back. Just using stock firmware upgraded to the latest available..may have to give the beta a go though from the notes I do not see any changes in wifi

It prompted for firmware update ..may try the beta

Hi Shai

Try the latest firmware, even if the beta.

Thanks for replying. At this stage I am not entirely sure what is going on because the issue seems intermittent. I will have to dig a bit deeper since the logs did not trigger any obvious response from anyone. I shall try the beta then the latest stable vanillla owrt ..It maybe that I just have a lemon ..but since the issue is intermittent this will take a while. How does one backup the settings from the GUI ?

Go to Luci to backup the configuration, but not sure that if it is completely.

Can try to check the 'Reserve configuration' when you upgrade.

The same thing happened to me, but by installing the beta firmware based on openwrt 24 4.6.0-op24, it was solved
