What of those devices would give the widest area coverage, especially with 5G WiFi (but also 2.4GHz) when in repeater mode?

Currently the routers, with internal wifi antenna, is not designed to get wide wifi coverage.
You may try using MV1000 with a Alfa wifi dongle.
We are trying some directional wifi antenna which could transmit 1000 meters.
Actually slate has two external antennas, hence the question.
