Custom kernel for the GL-RM1PE with USB WiFi

Hi,

Got a GL-RM1PE)for field work in datacenters. Great little box, but I wanted wifi on it.

So I built my own kernel. Wireless stack compiled in, USB dongle running, the kvm comes up as an AP. Connect with the laptop, straight onto the server console, customer network not involved at all.

Took way longer than expected, the HDMI capture chip bring to work. But it boots and it works  Which also means we can build working kernels for this box now, so anyone can add whatever they need.

Greets,

Marc

Thanks for your sharing.

It’s good to see more development on USB WiFi on these KVMs. I’ve done a few tests on another forum thread for the RM1, but that was to use the WiFi as a client. Having it in AP mode feels useful!

New release, now you can switch between WLAN AP and Client.
Quick installer and an use full GUI to manage them.

All binaries you can build it self or download it from the GitHub repo
