DDNS not updating using AR750S

DDNS not updating using AR750S

I have a Wireguard Server running on my AR750S. The AR750S is behind my ISP supplied router, connected by a LAN cable. I have a time switch on the ISP router and get a different IPv4 address most days.

If I query my IP address using nslookup it does not update.

$nslookup xxxxxxx.glddns.com 1.1.1.1
Server: 1.1.1.1
Address: 1.1.1.1#53

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: xxxxxxx.glddns.com
Address: 86.178.xxx.xxx

The address displayed is (I believe) a correct but old address. The same address is returned by 8.8.8.8

This means that I cannot connect to the Wireguard server when away from home.

I have forwarded the default Wireguard port to the AR750S on the ISPs router. No other ports are forwarded.

This used to work a couple of months ago and I think this stopped working when I upgraded the AR750 software, but I am not sure.

Current software is as follows:
AR750S: 3.025
Plug-ins:
gl-ddns 3.0.21.1
gl-cloud-ui 3.0.18-1

On the Cloud Management page GoodCloud is switched OFF, but if switched ON it shows ‘device connect cloud server success’ so there is an internet connection.

Dynamic DDNS is enabled (Green slide switch visible) and APPLY has been pushed
DDNS test says ‘Your DDNS is not effective yet. Please try later’ and has shown this since 0700 this morning.
It is now 10.30 am.

I am not using Goodcloud management or Remote access so no other ports are forwarded to this router.
Finally, I tried rebooting the router and nothing changes.

Can anyone suggest what is wrong?

I just reflashed my router last night and couldn’t get it working until I installed gl-ddns 3.0.22-1…may try that or the other ddns plugins for openwrt

We just had a problem of the ddns server in the past day.

Can you pls try again? If not working correctly pls pm your ddns and we will find out.

A further comment: I tried looking for an update as mentioned by [Sonomascanner] , but couldn’t see it.
I reinstalled gl-cloud-ui (3.0.13-1)and gl-ddns (3.0.18-1) these are earlier versions than before. I am not sure why?

With this set up I turn DDNS on (switch goes green). If I then click on ‘Plug-ins’ and then back to ‘Remote Access’ the DDNS seems to have been switched OFF (Not green but grey) This seems unreasonable.

Pls don’t install these two services manually.

If not working well, maybe you can send the log to check.

I have reflashed the 3.025 firmware and am now back to
gl-ddns 3.0.21.1
gl-cloud-ui 3.0.18-1.

My first issue is that when I switch ON the DDNS, Apply does not change and pressing it does not seem to save the new state. When I reload the webpage DDNS enabled is NOT GREEN.

logread gives: front removed due to length.

Tony

The non-latching switch issue was caused by not ticking the ‘Agree’ box.

My DDNS has now updated to the correct IP address. Apart from reflashing, I’m not clear what else fixed the problem.

Tony

Wireguard is now working too.

Thanks alzhao

Good to know! Good to know!
