DDNS setup error

I’m having same issue as listed here.

My device is GL-MT1300 behind main router.

seeing this message “this router is behind NAT or you do not have a public IP address” while doing DDNS TEST

when I nslookup, getting below error message
can’t find nslookup: No response from server

Thanks in advance.

Set up port-forward on your main router.

You need to know the IP address of the mini router on your main network. You can get this info on the Internet status page.

The ports including
80
22
443

Depends on which service you want to enable you can do different port forward

Thanks alzhao.

  1. do I need to do port forwarding for DDNS(without enabling https or ssh access) to work? If so, which port do I need to forward? do I need to do port forward to my secondary router’s ip? or just doing port forwarding enough?
2.for https or ssh access, Do I need to port forwarding to my secondary router’s ip? or just doing port forwarding enough? Thanks in advance.

For DDNS itself, you do not need to do anything. Because DDNS is that, the router report its public IP address to the DDNS server. So the DDNS will be resolved as your public IP.

But if you want to access the router or anything via the ddns, you need to do port forward via the main router. So for your 2nd question, you need to port forward from your main router to the GL routers

Thanks again.
#1 step - DDNS itself is not working and seeing this message “this router is behind NAT or you do not have a public IP address” while doing DDNS TEST. Please help

Whether DDNS is working or not, you should check if your ddns is resolved as your correct IP address.

The message means that your router is not accessible.
