Debricking Beryl 7 – hardware error codes?

Hi,

today I got a Beryl 7. Connected a computer and upstream. And it worked.

Performed a firmware update. And it worked.

But just for 10 minutes.

Since then, although the LED is lit (blue), no connection on ethernet (down, computers don’t detect an ethernet) and no Wifi.

Now I tried to debrick it, following

(and yes, I’ve don this with other routers several times before). Doesn’t work. I can’t get the Beryl 7 in Uboot mode:

No matter, whether I keep the reset button pressed, I can’t get the LAN port up. And the LED doesn’t blick as described. After powering on it blinks blue twice, and then remains permanently blue. No 7 blinks, no white led, even if I keep pushing the reset button for up to a minute, it doesn’t make a difference:

After powering up, the router links twice (blue) and then becomes constantly blue. I can’t make it to blink 7 times and/or become white.

Is this some hardware error code?

Are you using the standard power adapter?

If you use a different power adapter, will it boot normally or enter U-Boot mode?

Just the standard power adapter that came with the device.

The current state is:

No matter, whether I do press reset during powerup, it blinks twice (blue), then comes permanently blue, and the LAN port and WIFI are dead, computer does not detect an ethernet connection when plugin in.

But when plugging the computer to the WAN port, the computer detects ethernet, but the device does not respond to anything and it does not send anything.

I’ll consider it as broken and return it to amazon.

I just tried two other power adapters, both 65W, but the same result. No difference.

And: No response if I power on the device without pressing reset, waiting for LED to be lit permanently, and then pressing reset. Shouldn’t it go into some reset cycle?

It seems that even if you don't perform any operations, such as simply powering it on, it still won't start normally?
