Hello, we are currently trying to get our Dell PowerEdge T430 loaded with Windows Server 2022 connected through a new Comet. It is connected from the PowerEdge via a VGA to HDMI adapter to the KVM. I have verified that I can get an HDMI signal from other devices to the KVM through the same adapter. I have also verified that the PowerEdge can connect to a monitor via the same adapter. I have tried changing the EDID settings on the KVM with no success. Any ideas on what could be preventing the PowerEdge from connecting through the KVM?
Since this device uses a VGA interface, the VGA interface does not accept externally negotiated signals. When you use a VGA-to-HDMI adapter, no matter how you modify the EDID in GLKVM, the VGA interface will not respond to these changes.
Most likely, this device is outputting a signal with a resolution higher than 60Hz. We have observed similar behavior on our servers here. We will make some attempts because the SOC manufacturer informed us that their chip supports up to 75Hz, but we have not been able to pass the test. This may not be resolved in a short period of time.
Thank you for the explanation. Can you tell me how to check what refresh rate the KVM is detecting?
dmesg|grep 6911
The input resolution is 1024x768@75Hz. Do you have any advice?
The most effective way is for you to log into the controlled computer and then find a way to prevent it from outputting this resolution. Generally, resolutions greater than 1280×1024 are unlikely to output refresh rates exceeding 60Hz.
We found a way to support this frame rate, so just wait for our 1.8 .1 update.
Thank you for the update, minmie.
