Desperate need of your help

First post here and my First Flint

I have a UK virgin media hub 4 and I did have an Asus wireless router(all worked)

Now that asus is not doing any firmware update for my router.
I thought I would buy a new one. The flint 3 looks awesome on paper.

I got it yesterday and pluged the Wan out of the flint 3 to the wan of the VM super hub 4.
I went the the Flints setup and all was good. It says it has connected to the net when it has not.

So i tried gain(6 times) and still the same.
So I reset the super hub. Put it into modem mode. Then connected the Flint 3 and nothing.
On the flints panel i get this
Protocol DHCP
IP Address 81.104.24.231
Gateway 81.104.16.1
DNS Server 194.168.4.100, 194.168.8.100

Which to me looks right?

Also the admin page said when I picked the ethernet option

"Ethernet configuration is completed.
Current network connection type is DHCP and network status is normal.
You can enjoy the internet now."

But nothing. I have emailed Flint support, but nothing back as yet.

I put my old asus in and all is ok.

Can someone tell me whaat I need to do PLEASE..
Thnk you for your time..

Deuse

Hi,

I saw this email is received in our email system (Ticket ID 803x5).
Our technical engineers will prioritize check your issue.

Let us discuss in ticket.

Yes they emailed me.

They got mixed up with the flint 2.

They asked me to try the second wan port...The flint 3 does not have one.
Also the person said "can I remote to you next monday"

How are they going to do that if I can not get on the net

Thnk you.

Hi,

If virgin media hub 4 is configured to routing mode, is the Flint3 connected to VM and is the Internet normal?

If no luck, please prepare a laptop, which wire cable to connect to Flint 3, and WiFi connect to mobile phone hotspots or others available WiFi.
We will access the laptop through remote desktop software and debug the Flint3 issue.

As said in my first post.

No it does not work.
The flint 3 thinks it has the internet when it has not.

I have no laptop.

Thank you

Can you try and keep your ISP's hub in router (and not modem only/bridge) mode, connect ethernet cable from one of its LAN ports to the WAN port of the Flint after doing a factory reset on the latter?

I guess this is your mistake. Plug the LAN of VMSH4 to WAN of Flint 3.
