Device not appearing in applications/network storage?

I have a slate plus running 4.2b3 firmware and have successfully configured a luks2 device that is mounted into /mnt/external

I wondered why the GL firmware isn’t seeing the device in the device list? How is it looking for devices?

I wanted to also enable nfs from the gui, but as the device isn’t seen these options do not seem to work.

Thanks for any help understanding the interaction between the luci config and the gl gui

The network storage function will only read the automatically mounted device with the path /tmp/mountd.

Thanks, that is useful, but I thought mountd was obsolete since 2018?

Is this the method you use to mount all drives?

Yes, all drives that are automatically mounted are in this path.
