Spitz GL-X3000, fw 4.8.0b3 (also happens in 4.7.4)
NAT6 mode (more stable than IPv6 passthrough)
IPv4 & IPv6 DCHP reservations for my OPNsense firewall.
I've noticed (in LuCI) that although the IPv4 lease remain valid for the entire lease time (24H), the IPv6 lease tend to disappear from the list after about 10 minutes or less.
I ran a netcap to see if the client was releasing the IPv lease, but this never happened. The IP leases in OPNsense remain valid.
IPv6 traffic flows perfectly well even though the gateway apparently thinks that this address has been released, so this is a minor annoyance; not a usability issue.
Certainly...
The static lease is set for the default 24hrs.
When I force a lease renewal in OPNsense, I can see in the LuCI Network -> DNS and DHCP -> Static Leases that the IPv4 and IPv6 leases have been renewed (see below)
After a short time (compared to the lease time), the IPv6 lease no longer appears, even though there was never a "release" message sent from the OPNsense host (see below)
I did not reproduce this issue on my Flint2/v4.7.7.
From the test, I found that as long as the client PC ipv6 remains enable, the router's ipv6 address allocation does not disappear.
If the ipv6 disappear, probably it seems to have anything to do with the router.
Maybe I wasn't clear: I'm using a Spitz GL-X3000 in NAT6 mode because it's provewn to be more IPv6 -stable than passthrough mode.
I don't expect my assigned IPv6 address to be visible on the Interwebz; that's what NAT6 does.
I was also curious about whether the OPNsense device was sending release messages, and none appeared in the netcap I ran for over an hour.
