Difference in DNS settings

Hi,

I see 2 different ways to set the DNS address on my router.

What are the differences of setting it in one tab or the other?

I've started having issues where my LAN started to lag and I can see my pi-hole getting bombed by the router so I'm trying to diagnose the problem. Right now I removed everything from my DNS configuration and it works correctly. Now I'm curious as to what option should I use.

LAN -> DHCP will transmit the DNS server to the clients, they will talk directly to the DNS server

DNS -> The router will act as an DNS proxy and forward all requests to the DNS server

Should the description be changed to something like admon wrote above?
admon's description is much more clear.

I also don't understand why there are 2 different tabs for DNS settings...

Because you might want different client DNS than DNS on the router

That makes way more sense than the description on the router page. The LAN tab is the one I wanted to use. Thanks!
