I noticed my WireGuard server wasn’t working (WireGuard client still was) and begin trying to find what has changed in the recent update. I disabled everything and noticed I could not get a Dynamic DNS to work and got the following error.
Any suggestions as to what this problem might be I’ve tried everything to get it up and running again.
I did recently change my internet from cable to fiber if that may play a role.
Make sure you have set up port forwarding on the fibre router.
Turn off the WireGuard VPN server. Go to whatismyipaddress.com to find your public IP address. Ping or nslookup your DDNS domain name (*.glddns.com) to find the DDNS IP address. Are the 2 IP addresses the same?
I do not work for and I am not directly associated with GL.iNet
My Flint is plugged directly into the box on the wall. What I assume is the equivalent of the modem for cable networks. The wire going into the mounted box is a fiber and and then comes out as a CAT6. I’ll see if there’s a way to access this directly. They gave me another router from EERO with the network. I unplugged that and put my flint back into it and all was working fine overall.
It appears my fiber service might be using a CGNAT which is messing it all up. I was able to bypass it with Zerotier but my DDNS and good cloud do not work with this method
Yeaaa, I was looking at it. I switched from cable 1gb to them because I also got 1gb upload speeds vs 50mbs and was roughly the same prices. But I lost a special $30 credit when I changed. So basically it’s becoming a cost benefit ratio. I can remote to my router with zero tier but I lose the goodcloud and simplistic WireGuard server.
I’m still learning ZeroTier on how to connect to special devices on my network directly. With WireGuard it was as easy as changing the last digit of the IP address.
I was having trouble getting goodcloud to bind to my router since I got stuck behind a CGNAT. But I think I was able to finally get it through the App bound, the router console page wasn’t working tho.
