I have static set using Cable which uses a local DNS. When I then disconnect the cable and use tethering, it continues to use the custom DNS.
I think this is normal. When setting up static IP, your IP and DNS Settings will still exist even if you disconnect the cable
I solved the problem, I just made my Slate use Cloudflare with the DNS settings when not using my custom DNS.
